Get Up to RM3 Back for Every Empty ZCL Spool: How Our Spool Buyback Works

If you print a lot, you know the pile: empty spools stacking up in the corner of your workshop. Most of them end up in the bin, and a plastic spool can take hundreds of years to break down.

At ZCL 3D Filament, we'd rather put them back to work. That's why we started the ZCL Spool Buyback: send us your empty ZCL spools and we'll give you store credit for every one.

How much you get

Black spool: RM3 store credit

How it works

  1. Save your empty ZCL spools. Once you've collected 12 or more, you're ready.
  2. Pack and measure. Put them in a box, then note the box size and weight.
  3. Fill in our spool buyback form. We'll get back to you with the drop-off address in Johor Bahru or courier details.
  4. Get your credit. Once we've received and checked your spools, you'll get your store credit to use on your next order.

Quick example

Return 12 black spools → RM36 credit. That's more than a spool of PETG or ABS, and almost a full spool of PLA. Return 12 grey spools → RM24 credit.

The rules

  • ZCL spools only. We accept empty spools from ZCL 3D Filament.
  • Minimum 12 spools per return (grey and black can be mixed).
  • RM3 per black spool, RM2 per grey spool, given as store credit for your next order (not cash).
  • Return options: drop-off in Johor Bahru, or courier to us. Submit the form first and we'll give you the address.

Why we do this

Every spool we get back is one less piece of plastic in a landfill. Returned spools are cleaned, inspected and reused for new filament, which also helps us keep our prices down. It's a small step, but when every maker in Malaysia does it, it adds up.

Our filament is made right here in Johor, using Toray Toyolac ABS resin made in Malaysia and SK Chemical PETG resin from Korea. Keeping our spools in use is part of making local filament that's good for your prints and better for the planet.
